Addiction usually does not last a lifetime.Title of this post is a pessimistic notion that is both wrong and harmful.it leaves people two choices:either you stay constantly addicted and miserable until you die;oryou abstain for life while attending group meetings and viewing yourself as the recovering person.Sadly,a small number of people probably die of their addictions;and another groupsucceds in quitting drinking, drug taking,or whatever by maintaining the role of recovering addict(this may sound to harsh but actually even if person quit addiction long time ago is still an addict ).But most people are more resilient and resourceful than that. Most people who have addictive habbits moderate or eliminate these habbits over the course of their lives. And they do it without having to say “I’am an alcoholic” or “I’am a sex addict” as long as they live .Remember that, today a majority of the adult Americans who have ever smoked have quit-and nearly all did so without treatment
